Lifelong learning

At the beginning of the 20th century, futurologists assumed that mankind’s knowledge would double approximately every 100 years
Today, a doubling can already be expected within a year, and in the near future, experts estimate, this period will be shortened even more,
to months or even days.

Curiosity and the ability to constantly reinvent oneself are therefore basic requirements of our highly dynamic world of tomorrow.
In addition, the willingness to make decisions is one of the competencies that we will increasingly need in the future, to adapt to the constantly changing conditions of our living environment.

In this context, the development of a culture of error is enormously important.
We can and may make wrong decisions, but we must correct them as best we can.

Thanks to the Internet, an enormous amount of knowledge is now available to people around the world, in part free of charge and with virtually no time lag.
In addition, there are a great many opportunities to constantly educate oneself and expand one’s knowledge.

We must continue to expand these opportunities and enable even more people to use them.
No one should be left behind.
This is one of the great social tasks and is only possible through the use of the latest IT technologies.

Albert Einstein said on this subject:
„Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving.“
